Where Do St. Louis Business and Civic Leaders Receive Their
Training?
We are the founding chapter of the international Jaycee
organization with chapters in over 100 countries and more than
224,000 members in the United States alone.
We provide training and experience unlike any other organization
for young adults. Unlike most civic organizations, our objective is
to provide young leadership roles to young men and women. We believe
in the "hands-on" approach to leadership training. All of
our projects are planned and run by our members. Our board of
directors and officers are comprised solely of our members. Every
activity we undertake provides our members with real training and
experience in leadership, management and civic service. Our members,
their employers and the community all benefit.
Many of St. Louis' outstanding leaders started in the St. Louis
Junior Chamber of Commerce. August A. Busch III, the late Robert
Hyland, Senator Christopher "Kit" Bond, Gene McNary, the
late Florissant Mayor James Eagan and many other community leaders
are past members of our chapter.
Our Members:
- develop valuable skills and experience that are fully
transferable to their careers.
- develop professional and personal relationships with a diverse
group of committed and active persons in the community providing
a network that spans the professions across the metropolitan
area.
- learn how to balance their lives and use their time
productively away from work.
